Does Fidaro store or read my conversations?
Your conversations are encrypted on your device before they’re ever stored, then synced across your devices so they follow you. We hold only encrypted data, never the readable version. The key that decrypts it is derived from your Passkey and never reaches us, so even our own engineers can’t read what you’ve written.
Can Fidaro be forced to hand over my data by a court or government?
We cannot hand over what we do not possess. The key to your data is derived from your Passkey on your device and never reaches us. There are no master keys in our possession and no store of decrypted conversations to compel.
How is this different from ChatGPT, Gemini, or other AI chatbots?
Most AI chatbots retain your conversations by default, and their own privacy policies say so. That data can be kept for training, kept for the company’s own records, and in several widely reported cases, has been ordered by courts to be preserved and handed over during lawsuits, whether or not the user was ever part of that case. Fidaro is built so there’s no readable data to retain, train on, or produce in the first place. Your messages are encrypted before they leave your device, and the key to read them never reaches us.

Which AI models can I talk to through Fidaro?
Fidaro automatically routes your conversation to the best of several leading open models for the task — all running on Fidaro’s own hardware, inside the same protected environment. Nothing is ever sent to the models’ creators, so neither they nor Fidaro see who you are or what you said. We keep adding new models to that pool, so the AI answering you keeps getting better without you having to do anything.
Is this actually private, or just another privacy policy?
Privacy on Fidaro isn’t a policy, it’s the architecture. Your messages are encrypted on your device, processed inside a hardware-isolated environment, and unlockable only with a key that never reaches us. There’s nothing to promise, because there’s nothing for us to access.
