There is no App Store or Play Store download. Fidaro runs in your browser, which is deliberate — the encryption that protects your conversations happens in the page itself, and a browser is the one place you can see exactly what it fetched.
You can still have it as an icon on your home screen or in your Dock.
Installing it
- iPhone or iPad — open Fidaro in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen
- Android — open it in Chrome, then Install app or Add to Home screen from the menu
- Mac — open Fidaro in Safari, then File → Add to Dock
- Windows, or Chrome and Edge anywhere — use the install icon at the end of the address bar
What that gets you
Its own icon, and a full-screen window without browser tabs and toolbars around it. On an iPhone it is also the only way to get a notification when a reply is ready — Safari does not offer them to ordinary tabs.
What it does not
It is the same Fidaro, so it needs a connection: there is no offline mode, and nothing is downloaded to read later. Sign-in and unlocking work exactly as they do in the browser. On an iPhone or iPad the installed app keeps its own site storage separately from Safari, so you sign in and unlock again the first time you open it.
