If a conversation runs long enough, you may see a divider reading Conversation summarized. Nothing has gone wrong.
What happened
Every AI model can hold only so much text in mind at once. Fidaro's window is large, but not unlimited.
Rather than refusing to continue, or silently dropping your earliest messages, Fidaro condenses the earlier part of the conversation into a summary and keeps that in view instead. The chat continues normally.
What this means in practice
- The thread of the conversation is kept. Decisions, context and conclusions carry forward.
- Exact earlier wording may not be. Fine detail from the beginning — a precise phrasing, a long quotation, a full list — can be compressed away.
- Your history is untouched. Summarising affects what the model is working from, not what is stored. Scroll up and your original messages are all still there, and exporting the chat exports the real conversation.
If precision matters
For long pieces of work where exact earlier detail matters, either:
- paste the important part again when you need it referred to precisely, or
- start a new chat for each distinct phase, and use a Project to keep them together. Project instructions are a good place for context you never want condensed.
This is handled automatically and there is no setting to turn it off.
